Founder & CEO, Somnus Technologies, Inc.
I'm building Somnus Technologies in Wisconsin as private, on-device infrastructure for sleep wellness. The problem we work on is snoring and nighttime breathing — something tens of millions of people live with and most never get a clear read on.
Our first product is Nightsong. It turns the phone you already own into a sensor for sleep and snoring and gives you one honest read against your own baseline each morning. Nightsong is a wellness and longevity product from Somnus Technologies. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat disease. What it captures stays on your device by default.
The Somnus Index is a wellness metric under FDA General Wellness Policy. Not a medical device. It is one you-versus-you number from snoring and breathing steadiness overnight.
The engine runs on your phone. A learned model reads the night. Plain, fixed checks keep it honest. We are clear about how it is built and disciplined about what we claim.
Most of this category ships a better gadget and runs on your data. We went the other way. Privacy is the wedge. The company underneath the app is sensing, a scoring standard, and a connected system built on-device first.
I've spent my career turning underperforming businesses into focused, high-growth companies. I know the difference between running large operations and building one from nothing.
Private by design. Wellness and longevity, measured against your own baseline.
I write every article in the Learn library myself. The rule for each one is the same rule Nightsong runs on: say what the evidence supports, name the source, and stop there. Where a claim comes from published research, the article links to it. Where the answer is a conversation with a clinician, the article says so.
I use Nightsong every night. Most of what is in the library started as a question about my own trend line.
